OUR MOST RECENT EXPERIENCE
AT ORGANIZING BIG INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES:

The scheme of Dr. S. Agathopoulos, acting as the General Coordinator and Chairman, and TRIAENA S.A., as the Organizing Agency have successfully organized the 6th International Conference on High Temperature Capillarity (HTC-2009) held in Athens, in 4-6 May, 2009.

The cooperation of Dr. Agathopoulos and TRIAENA S.A. had started from preparing a complete file of candidacy, submitted to the International Scientific Committee of HTC in Alicante-Spain 2 years earlier (2007).

The Conference gathered about 140 participants from all countries of the world and took place for 4 days (the presentations took place from 08:30 to 19:00 each day). The Program comprised 11 sessions of about 65 oral presentations and 2 poster sessions (of about 80 posters). They all took place in 1 big room (there were not parallel sessions). They presentations were divided in 4 scientific subjects.

With regards to the social events, beyond lunches and dinners (which were not the same each day), the social events were included a banquet (an outside-dinner at a restaurant close to the sea), a pre-conference tour to Poseidon Temple, a conference tour to Acropolis hill (that time, the famous new Acropolis Museum was not inaugurated yet) and a Greek night dinner afterwards, and a post-conference tour to Delhi-Shrine (the tours to the archaeological sites were guided).

The success of the HTC-2009 conference accounts
(i) the excellent and personal contact with the participants before the conference via a complete and very informative web-site (still available in the internet at www.htc2009.org), personal e-mails, keeping the time-schedule given from the beginning and maintaining the registration fees presented from the beginning,
(ii) the excellent organization during the period of the conference, including their reception, keeping the schedule, solving unexpected problems or individual demands of participants,
(iii) the high scientific level of the Conference, and
(iv) the perfect social events with high cultural impact, which resulted in building a fruitful friendship atmosphere among the participants.

The success of the Conference has been outlined in numerous flattering e-mails sent to Dr. Agathopoulos by the participants after the Conference, being available by clicking here.
