Schedule and Program

Due to the established tradition of BIOCERAMICS to taking place in autumn, this proposal has been built on the assumption of autumn period for Bioceramics-26.

Accordingly, we suggest the end of September or the first 10 days of October
to catch the highest possibilities of good weather (i.e. no rain, moderate temperature, sunshine), to have the longest period of daylight during autumn (that is important for the social events of the Conference and the tourist activities for both the participants of their accompanying persons), and becauseĀ  there is no any National (or any important International) Holiday, during this period.

Certainly, if the Executive Committee decides a latter date, then the schedule can be easily and immediately fixed to the new dates with no extra cost of the herein proposed budget or alterations in the reservation of conference venue or the social activities etc.

We wish, however, to let you know that the best period for organizing conference in Greece and specifically Athens is the first 10 days of May.

This candidacy considers a program of 3 complete days of conference with 2 parallel sessions taking place simultaneously together with 1 or 2 Poster sessions (from that program we exclude any social event, e.g. welcome reception, etc.)

Selected Plenary Lectures will be also given by eminent researchers.
If we shall receive more (than usual) good Abstracts, we can expand the conference into 3 parallel sessions (the venue has such possibilities).
In any case, we are very flexible to expand (or shrink) the number of days and the number of the parallel sessions.

Since "biomaterials" is a rapidly developing scientific field, we can not propose from now (i.e. 4 years earlier) the topic of the sessions and their distribution in the conference. The experience of the previous Conferences (and mainly Bioceramics-25, which will be held in 2012) will crucially define the topics of the sessions and their distribution in the conference.
