The Byzantine Estate is located sixteen kilometres from the centre of Athens, on a hillside between Paiania and Palini. Inside the gate, the Attic landscape gently unfolds over 35 acres belonging to the Estate.
Three thousand pines, cypresses and oaks underscore the land's fertility and natural aesthetic charm. Nestling amidst this natural beauty, the house appears to be a part of the landscape even though it was built just two decades ago.
The house was constructed from handpicked, authentic materials - stones, tiles, beams, carved wood - from old Greek homes and outbuildings. Indoors, the valuable icons, carpets and ceramics - as if in their original setting - reflect the estate's distinctive blend of beauty and simplicity creating the perfect balance between privacy and hospitality.
The Byzantine Estate can accommodate 3.000 guests outdoors and 1,500 indoors.
The Island Residence
Famous for its club and exquisite restaurant, Island has created five distinct areas, thus is considered to be the ideal place for social or professional events and conferences. Gallery, Residence, Privé, Private House and C-Lounge have their individual entrances and their own kitchen infrastructure to hold your social event.
Residence hosts 1200 seated guests and its imposing garden full of age-long olive trees and thrifts ends at the sea, which acts as its natural boundaries. It is an area where the Mediterranean architecture and abstractive disposition of the elements are naturally combined with the landscape.
The architecture is Cycladic, white being the main colour of the interior. What makes it stand out is the intervention of objects and decoration that one would consider classic, which gives the place a modern, imaginative appearance. An old wide, self supporting bar with bright marble and high stools positioned on either side enable friends to enjoy the whole area of the club at the same time as sampling the cuisine of Island.
The restaurant tables are located on the left-hand side on different levels so that everyone has an excellent view of the sea. There are also tables near the bar on the right hand side where comfortable cycladic sofas give one the chance to enjoy all the intensity of the club.
The cuisine can be characterized as "creative Mediterranean". It started of by using basic recipes that one meets in the Mediterranean for fish, meat and pasta and adds a modern, imaginative flair, which makes each individual dish unforgettable.
